Lehengas & Leather

8:33 AM

When Lisa Haydon wearing a leather lehenga walked for designer Monisha Jaising's show at couture week, it was a moment of reckoning!
While some cringed, the others saw a wave of change in how the industry and the mindset was changing.
Blame it on the futuristic athleticism which has influenced fashion landscape in the world - the Indo-western fusion has taken a new turn. Over the years, in the quest for Indo-western fusion and seeing the demands from the brides, designers have acknowledged the fact that today's bride wants a western appeal to it. Wearing an all black attire or even the color black in some form for an Indian wedding would have been blasphemous a few years ago, while it's not difficult to see black attires at wedding festivities today. You have to be a certain kind of person to be able to carry the not so usual biker bride look. Women are changing and getting more evolved and breaking out of the traditional mind set. From Reds and Pinks for your wedding, other colors are making their way too. I for one love to wear black and while my cupboard breathes in black, stuffing it with the color only seems fine by me.

With an eye for detail and the approach to mix unconventional colors together, Malvika from Label Eeshav strides to make each garment as close to the persons personality. Balancing the garment with the intricate work, colors and style, this designer with no particular degree in fashion but an interest that has had brides, like this one walk the isle with confidence, brings life to all her garments. Her approach towards Ethnic and Indo-western is far from the usual with a price that wont make you regret your decision even after years.
Malvika customizes garments to the T and delivers them at the doorstep across India.
